LIBERATED CARE THERAPY AND CONSULTING

Candice Frederick, CCC and RPQ

Wellness tailored to changemakers and careworkers who want a supportive space to reclaim dreamspace and develop new money narratives.“What if you could hear the world between your heartbeats? Slow down enough to deepen into trust.”
- Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals

My family immigrated from Grenada and settled in what is now called Toronto, Ontario, Canada. For thousands of years, Toronto, Ontario has been the lands of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and the Mississaugas of the Credit. I respectfully acknowledge and express gratitude for the people who walked before me and survived so that I could live and work on this land.© Candice Frederick. All rights reserved.

therapy

I work from an anti-oppressive, intersectional, feminist, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach. I aim to provide an emotionally supportive space where we go at a pace that feels good to your body and nervous system.I work with a lens that is culturally responsive and rooted in both an understanding of collective care and ancestral wisdom. This means that I understand wellness and well being within the context of generational trauma / healing. I understand the ways we have survived (and continue to survive) within capitalism and white supremacy and hustle culture.Values that guide my work include collaboration, consent, creativity, respect for nature, accountability, sex positivity, and respect for lived experience. At this time, 1:1 therapy is offered virtually on a secure platform. 50-minute sessions are $160 CAD. Sliding scale spots are not available at this time.Appointments are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can book directly here: https://www.firstsession.com/therapists/candice-frederick

Facilitation and teaching

I have worked with faculty at the University of Toronto to facilitate a two-day faculty workshop on trauma-informed care. I have created content and facilitated workshops for leaders in private and public institutions focused on bias training and psychological safety. I have presented content as part of and equity audit to the Fringe Toronto community and their board.
