It is very common to feel unsure about where to begin! If you are interested in exploring my work, I recommend starting with a free Vibe Check (initial consultation). During this conversation, we can discuss what you are looking for, the challenges you are navigating, and together, we can determine whether individual therapy, relationship work, financial therapy, or a strategy session is the best fit for your current needs. You can also check out ways we can work together here.

I am currently licensed to practice in Ontario as a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying. I am also a Canadian Certified Counsellor, which means I can work with clients in unregulated provinces like British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland & Labrador. If you are outside of these regions, please reach out—I am happy to discuss whether we can work together based on current regulations and your specific needs. Please feel free to book a Vibe Check (15 minute complimentary consultation) to find out more.

To make the most of our time together, we’ll use this brief video call on my secure platform to introduce ourselves and see if we’re a good match. I’ll share how I practice, and you can share what’s bringing you in and ask any questions you have. Please make sure you are in a quiet, private space and ready to log in using the secure link provided in your confirmation email.

After we have our free Vibe Check (initial consultation), the choice to move forward is entirely in your hands. If we both feel like we are aligned and want to work together, the next step is to sign up with your contact details to create your account here. Please remember to add a payment method to your file. Once you’ve signed up, send me a quick message on the platform, and I will send over the consent form for you to sign. You can then go ahead and book in your first session. If any lingering questions pop up, you can message me through the booking platform or by email at carewithcandice@gmail.com.

I do not bill insurance directly. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (member #11253598) and a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) (license #18582) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Many extended health benefit plans in Ontario cover my services, though coverage varies by provider. I recommend checking your specific plan for coverage under "Psychotherapy" or "Counselling," and I am happy to provide receipts for your insurance claims. Once payment is made, you are issued an invoice that you can submit to your insurance company. My credentials will be listed on the invoice.

I charge $185 for 50 minute individual sessions. You may also purchase a three session bundle at $450 (price increasing to %525 on September 1st). For couples/duos, I charge $200 for 60 minute sessions. I recommend that clients seeking me out for relationship therapy start with a longer 75 minute session for $250. I do not offer sliding scale at this time. If you are a Black girl or woman, you can access 9 free therapy sessions with me through the Black Women Institute of Health if you are located within Canada. Please email me for more details. You might also be able to access my services through the Breaking Free Foundation or apply through aftermetoo.

I ask all clients to add a credit card to their client file for immediate payment. You can also choose to pay by e-transfer. As payment is due the same day as the appointment, I would ask that you also have a credit card on file if choosing to pay by e-transfer.

At this time, I only offer virtual sessions for clients located in Canada. To stay connected about any changes to my practice, please consider joining the newsletter subscriber list called Reclaiming Mondays, which is my monthly newsletter.

I ask that scheduled appointments are cancelled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice in writing. You can also directly cancel or book through Practice Better, the booking platform I use. If less than 48 hours' notice is given, the full session fee will be charged. Of course, life happens, and exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

My clients are often high-achieving, insightful, and emotionally aware individuals who feel there is a specific piece of their emotional or relationship puzzle they are still trying to solve. They may be navigating self-trust issues or seeking to understand the root causes of their money stories. Or maybe they are going through a romantic breakup or a friendship breakup and want more insight about how to do relationships better. You might also be a Black client seeking to work with a Black therapist. That’s real too.
As a relational and somatic therapist, I offer a container that is anti-oppressive, culturally-attuned, trauma-informed, and body-based. We work together to bridge the gap between your awareness and your lived experience, moving at a pace that honors your nervous system.

Yes, I do and have. I believe that people should choose the relationship structures that make the most sense to them and that how you build connection is a personal choice so long as there is consent, safety, and good communication. My goal is always to provide a space where you get to explore and experiment, bring curiousity, and lean into your own unique lived experiences. You can read more about my values here.

At this time, my practice is primarily set up to serve clients residing in Canada, due to the regulatory requirements of my professional licensure. If you are located outside of Ontario or Canada, please reach out to me directly at carewithcandice@gmail.com. We can discuss your specific situation, as my ability to offer services depends on your current location and the nature of the support you are seeking. While I may not be able to provide psychotherapy, we can discuss whether other services like a strategy session could still be a good fit for your needs.

If you're planning to travel outside the country and would like to continue sessions virtually, please let me know beforehand. Because of licensing and liability considerations, I may not be able to offer virtual sessions in all locations, so it's best to check in with me in advance.
