YOU DESERVE CARE THAT GETS YOUR CONTEXT
Relational and Somatic Therapy for Adults in Survival Mode
Money and relationships are where survival mode shows up loudest. This is virtual, trauma-informed care for the nervous system underneath both.
Virtual care across Ontario — including Toronto, Mississauga, Scarborough, and the GTA — and select provinces
What Survival Mode Feels like
You feel tired all the time. You are gassed. You can't imagine being in a different place. Everything feels small. You are just putting one foot in front of another. You can't even name something you enjoy doing.
If that reads like a description of your week, you are not failing at coping. Your nervous system has been running the same emergency program for a long time, and it has gotten very good at it.
DIFFERENT DOORS, SAME ROOM
People land in survival mode from very different directions. You might just identify as feeling stuck and not know a good way forward. More than one of these can be true at once. If the work is between you and another person, check out the Relationships page
A CAREGIVER
You are the one who checks in on everyone. Nobody has asked how you are doing in a while, and you have stopped noticing.
You might be arriving here as …
SOMEONE WHO WENT THROUGH A TRAUMATIC EVENT
It happened, you handled it, life kept moving. So you thought. Or, you are in the midst of events that keep happening. In your body and nervous system, it doesn’t feel over.
A SERVICE PROFESSIONAL
You hold other people's crises all day and have no container for your own. Competence at work is not the same as being okay.
SOMEONE IN BURNOUT AND DECISION FATIGUE
Small choices cost what big ones used to. You are running on the fumes of a system that keeps asking for more.
AN ADULT FROM AN IMMIGRANT FAMILY
You are the bridge between the culture you come from and the one you live in. You feel pressure and struggle with guilt and boundaries.
SOMEONE TRYING TO UNPACK THEIR MONEY STORY
Scarcity mindset, inherited money scripts, the dread that shows up before you open the banking app. Money is rarely only about money.

RELATIONAL
The patterns show up between people
Who you become around your family, your partner, your manager, your money. The guilt of setting a boundary. The reflex to be the one who holds it together. We work with those patterns as they are happening, including in the room with me.
SOMATIC
The body keeps the schedule
We explore not just your thoughts and emotions, but what's happening in your body — tension, temperature, shifts in breath. These cues tell us a lot about how your nervous system is responding in the moment, and they guide the work at your pace.

The 3-Session Therapy Bundle
Some clients like having a fixed container for therapeutic engagement. Time to engage over a few sessions and see which areas we can start to transform and unpack. Less admin, more ease. Your sessions are tracked so you always know how many remain.
How to get started
01 / The Vibe Check (intro consult)
We start with a complimentary 15-minute call. This is our space to ask questions, share my process, and see if our energies are a fit for what you're looking for in a therapist.
02 / The first session
If we decide to move forward, we'll book your first full appointment. I recommend a 75-minute virtual session where we begin to map your nervous system and dive into the areas you are ready to explore. Afternoon, evening, and occasional Saturdays are available for easy booking.
03 / The care plan
After we establish some trust, we determine together where to focus your care. This includes identifying who is already in your care and health ecosystem and defining the specific role I can play in that network — ensuring you feel supported in a way that makes sense to you.
It can be hard to know where to begin if you are new to therapy or returning after an absence. Healing isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. Here you get to orient so you can get a sense of what to expect.

First of all, welcome. This is a common question.
I don’t do a formal intake but we start to work through what is feeling hard and where you are wanting change. We might start to look at some of the origin stories. We start to track what is happening with your nervous system
I also recognize that power dynamics exist in therapeutic spaces, and I’m committed to creating a container that is respectful and aware of those dynamics. This includes holding space for conversations about how systems of oppression—like racism, capitalism, and other social forces—may impact your experience and healing.
Sessions typically involve talking, reflection, and sometimes gentle somatic exercises or practices to help you connect with your body and emotions. Some people find it helpful to take notes during or after sessions, and sometimes there may be homework or exercises to try between sessions. You’re always welcome to ask for resources or tools that might support your journey.

It means we’ll explore not just your thoughts and emotions, but also what’s happening in your body. I’ll invite you to notice things like tension, temperature, or shifts in breath — what we sometimes call the “felt sense.” These cues can tell us a lot about how your nervous system is responding in the moment.
We might try simple practices to help with things like overwhelm or anxiety and notice together what shifts. Sometimes that brings a sense of ease; other times, it brings awareness to something that’s not feeling safe — and we can get curious about why that is. Either way, your body’s feedback helps guide the work in a way that’s grounded and attuned to your pace.

$185 for 50-minute individual sessions and $250 for a 75-min session. Some clients like to start their first session with a longer session and then continue with 50-minute bookings.
Or you can purchase a three-session bundle for $450. Prices will be increasing to $525 on September 25th.
I do not offer a sliding scale at this time. There are a few other routes to my services: if you are a Black girl or woman located in Canada, you can access 9 free therapy sessions with me through the Black Women Institute of Health — email me for details. You may also be able to access my services through the Breaking Free Foundation, or apply through aftermetoo.

I do not bill insurance directly. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (member #11253598) in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I am also a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), license #18582.
Many extended health benefit plans in Ontario cover my services, though coverage varies by provider. I recommend checking your specific plan for coverage under "Psychotherapy" or "Counselling." Some plans specify a Registered Psychotherapist and may not yet cover Qualifying registrants, so it's worth asking your provider about RP (Qualifying) before your first session.
My CRPO designation as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) requires that I practice under a clinical supervisor. You are welcome to request my supervisor's name and credentials at any time, and this information is also listed on each invoice and receipt.
Once payment is made, you are issued an invoice you can submit to your insurance company. My credentials and my supervisor's are listed on it.

Ongoing sessions are 50 minutes with a recommendation for a 75-minute first meeting. You can book through the client portal at any time, or we'll book your next session together at the end of each appointment. You'll get a reminder 48 hours before your session through the Practice Better platform.

Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee. This includes no-shows.
For example: if your session is at 6pm Friday, the cancellation window closes at 6pm Wednesday. A cancellation received Thursday morning would be subject to the full fee.
To cancel or reschedule, email me at carewithcandice@gmail.com. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
