Workshops
PART OF SOMATIC AND TRAUMA-INFORMED WELLNESS SERIES
Burnout, Care Work, and What our Bodies Carry
About the workshop
Burnout is usually framed as a personal problem to fix with better boundaries or more self-care. This workshop widens the lens. Together we name the personal, systemic, and relational factors that drive overwork and overextension, and notice how they show up in the body.
We spend time with the values your team holds around care work: who does it, how it gets recognized, and the patterns, like over-functioning, that keep people running on empty. Woven through the session are short somatic practices participants can return to on their own, at their desk or between meetings.
-
A critical look at overwork and root causes, an examination of care values and patterns such as overfunctioning, and micro-dose somatic practices
-
Energy containment, psychological safety, trauma-informed lens, ability to hold space for differing perspectives
-
This interactive workshop is designed for up to 50 participants. Also included: 60 min interactive groupsession, 1 to 2 prep calls beforehood, logistics by email, and 30 to 45 min post-session debrief if desired

Candice Frederick
I know what it feels like to navigate burnout / overwork myself. As a money and relationship therapist, I engage in real talk where we name what is true and what we’d like to change. Lived experience and systemic realities are always included.
Workshops are designed for education and practice and reflection.

-
Teams and staff groups dealing with high workloads, transitions, or care-heavy roles: non-profits, health and community organizations, universities, and workplaces that want to talk about burnout beyond individual self-care.
-
No. Sharing is always optional. Reflection prompts can be done privately, and people can participate as much or as little as feels right. This is an educational workshop, not group therapy.
-
Short, simple practices, a minute or two each, that use breath, posture, attention, and gentle movement to help the nervous system settle. They can be done seated, with cameras off, and nothing requires special clothing or ability. Every practice has an opt-out.
-
Sessions are generally not recorded, to protect psychological safety and allow participants to engage openly. Your team will receive a take-home resource sheet with the practices covered.
